Dark Tower Connections
There are many connections throughout Stephen King's books, intertwining
the stories from each, either with characters, objects or places (I
really must get that list completed!). Of course, some of the major
ones are to "The Dark Tower". Below is a list of the MAJOR
book connections to "The Dark Tower". There are probably many
more smaller connections throughout his other books and stories, and
I promise to list them all some time!
- Bag Of Bones - is Mike Noonan going "todash" when he visits the
Fryeburg Fair? Also the number 19 is used in the clues given to Mike.
Sara Laughs is the twin to Cara Laughs, a location in Song of Susannah and
The Dark Tower
- Black House - Roland, the Speaking Demon, the Monorail, the Crimson King,
the Tower, the Beam, Ka
- Cell - Charlie the Choo Choo
- Desperation - Can-toi
- Everything's Eventual; Everything's Eventual - Skipper Brannigan, Dinky
Earnshaw, Trans Corporation
- Everything's Eventual; Little Sisters Of Eluria - completely immersed in
the series
- Hearts In Atlantis; Low Men In Yellow Coats - Breakers, the Low Men, Roland,
the Crimson King, the Dark Tower, Ka, Ka-tet, the Beam, lost pet posters,
Ted Brautigan
- Insomnia - Roland, The Crimson King, the Tower, Ka, Ka-tet, young Patrick's
picture of a tower among a field of red roses, Patrick Danville himself
- It - the Turtle (See the turtle of enormous girth, on it's back...)
- Lisey's Story - Lisey compares her resurfacing memories to events happening
"on some level of time's great tower," and also mentions "Gilead"
(a location in the series) as a nearby town. The phrase "Bool! The end!"
appears in "Wizard and Glass." Lisey's license plate number for
her BMW is 5761RD. The numbers in the plate add up to 19, and RD are the initials
of Roland Deschain. (taken from Wikipedia)
- Rose Madder - "ka like a wheel", the City of Lud is mentioned,
Rose's face is compared to "a rare flower in a weedy vacant lot".
Ka is also mentioned
- 'Salem's Lot - Pere Callahan and the novel itself
- The Dead Zone - Nigel, the robot in The Dark Tower 7, was reading The Dead
Zone and found it "quite enjoyable"
- The Eyes Of The Dragon - in The Drawing Of The Three it is written of Roland
seeing Dennis and Thomas chasing after Flagg. In the Song of Susannah Roland
says that his grandfather Alaric went to Garlen, the land next to Delain,
to slay a dragon.
- The Plant - Ginelli (is he the same one that Eddie knows?)
- The Stand - Flagg, the Superflu (Captain Trips is mentioned in the fourth
book), parallel Kansas in Wizard and Glass. Abigail Freemantle is mentioned
as being on a quest "near"/"parallel" to Roland Deschain’s
quest in Wizard and Glass
- The Talisman - Other worlds. (DT3) Calvin Tower calls Jake a wanderer and
says that he is lighting out for the "territories"
- Thinner - Ginelli (is he the same one that Eddie knows?)
- The Regulators - according to the flap for Regulators, his wife was called
Claudia y Inez Bachman. In Wolves Of The Calla, when Eddie and Jake
go todash to New York, they see this New york's version of Charlie the Choo
Choo is written by one Claudia y Inez Bachman...
