Synopsis

A very powerful film adaptation of the book, the plot sticks closely to the one in the book.  

Carrie White is a very shy teenager, who doesn't seem to make friends very easily.  She gets taunted about her horrified reaction to her totally unexpected first period by her class female mates in gym one day.  Feeling a little guilty, one of them takes pity on her and gets her boyfriend to invite Carrie to their senior prom.  Meanwhile... another girl in her class, who has been banned from the prom for bad behaviour, is not quite so forgiving and plans a nasty prank to embarrass Carrie in front of the whole school.  What she doesn't know is that Carrie is somewhat gifted, and you you wouldn't like her when she's angry...
