Treehouse of Horror V features three short stories called The Shinning, Time and Punishment, and Nightmare Cafeteria.
In homily to The Shining, The Shinning sees the Simpsons become caretakers at Mr. Burns' mansion. Deprived of television and beer, Homer becomes insane and tries to murder the family; after finding a television, he returns to normal.
