Cain Rose Up

Cain Rose Up deals with a depressed and homicidal college student, Curt Garrish, who goes on a murderous sniper rampage from his dorm room. It is the end of the school year. Curt talks frequently about how people should either do the best they can with their life or die.
The story is reminiscent of the real life mass murderer Charles Whitman, the Texas Tower sniper.
Elements of the plot recall King's earlier Bachman novel Rage, including both the tortured protagonists having a propensity for violence and a classmate named "Pig Pen".
